Dress Designers

Laurisa's friends from her Light group begged her to come to their school dance(Mountain View) this weekend. It is a girls ask guy dance, so she asked a guy from Light that goes to Mountain View.
The next step was to figure out what she was going to wear! Us girls always have this dilemna! Well after Laurisa and I brain stormed we decided to take an existing dress from her sophmore year school dance and redesign it! We had so much fun doing this project together! I always have so much fun with Laurisa, she makes everything fun and she is so very creative!

Before

Laurisa tried not to smile like they always do in before pictures but she couldn't do it--so surprising (she doesn't know how to not smile.) We took this picture after we had already cut the under fabric short, removed the flower and the gathered fabric going down the side.

After
Wawh Lawh!!! Wow this dress really came to life with a little altering!!! Short dresses are more the style this year!

Wow! That turned out beautiful! What a great way to save money and recycle the clothes you already have. I always wondered what people do with their old school dance dresses! You can't even tell it is the same dress! Great job!

WOW! It was a darling dress before but it has so much sassiness added to it now! I LOVE it...I love the girl wearing it even more! I can't wait to see your dance pictures...try not to make everyone feel too bad that you look the best! :) Love you!!! Monica, you did a wonderful job! I can't believe all your talents. Seriously, when the kids need a badge sewn on they ask our neighbor! It is really beautiful and SO Laurisa!

I/m so surprised that Laurisa doesn't know how to not smile, she bring sunshine in a snowstorm. The dress is adorable I can't believe you can make such a change, you are a designer, really Monica its not fair for one person to have so many talents, I agree with Jill everyone is going to be jealous maybe they will secretly be glad that Laurisa doesn't go to their school and have to compete with her, but the amazing thing about Laurisa she makes everyone so happy and is so loveable, people can't be anything but happy and thankful that they know her and love her. Great job

WOW!! AMAZING! I couldn't even pass 7th grade sewing.. my teacher would stay after with me for weeks and be SOO frustrated that she finally looked at me and said, "Watch your Mom sew it for you and I will give you an A"
And here is monica just recreating a fashionable look!! WAY TO GO!!! I think you should do this with more dresses!! It;s makes the buck go further and you are PHENOMANAL at it! Love you!
